The sales of the RR 310 are nearly half of the 833 units per month target, TVS now wants to sell 1333 units a month in the next three to four months.

The bike received good reviews but hasn’t been able to translate them into sales numbers

The TVS Apache RR 310 is an ambitious bike from a company that has a history in motorcycle racing. What’s more interesting is that it was made by TVS along with BMW which also employs the same engine in its G 310 R and G 310 GS bikes although with a different tune. But all these statistics and joint development aren’t helping TVS to sell enough of the RR 310. In fact, the bike only managed to sell only 351 units in July down from 476 units in June 2018.

This is especially concerning for TVS as the segment itself is seeing a rise in the demand. The company has hence set a target of selling 1333 units per month in the upcoming months to decide for the future. It is planning an aggressive sales strategy that might also see discounts being offered on the RR 310. The sales might very well increase as the festive season is also around the corner.

The TVS RR 310 currently has a price tag of Rs. 2.23 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is Rs. 18,000/- higher than what it was at the launch. Rising input costs are probably not the only reason for the price hike as that leads to an increase of only 1-3 percent as compared to the 9 percent that the RR 310 has got.

The TVS Apache RR 310 has a supersport design which is comfortable for long distance riding. It gets LED lights all around. There’s a fully digital, vertically placed instrument cluster that apart from your regular readings has a lap-timer, top speed indicator and a side stand alarm. The RR 310 is powered by a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 33.5 HP at 9700 RPM and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7700 RPM. 0-60 km/hr timing is claimed at 2.93 seconds.

In a heating market segment, will the TVS Apache RR 310 manage to push itself back up from falling sales, only time will tell.
