TVS Entry-Level Scooter Design Patented, Likely To Be Called “Orbiter”
TVS is working on an entry-level scooter and has a patented design and names for the same. The brand currently sells the TVS iQube in the country.
The patent, interestingly, lacks an electric label but just has the “scooter” label. However, the absence of exhausts in the design suggests that it is an electric scooter. TVS is likely to use a smaller battery or the same as in the iQube’s base 2.2 kWh battery pack.
The design patent shows that the scooter uses telescopic fork suspension in the front and a dual shock setup in the rear. The hub of the rear wheel may contain the electric motor. Notably, the tyres are wrapped in dimensions which are skinnier as compared to the dimensions of the scooter.
The rear of the scooter appears to be large and aggressive. This is perhaps down to the battery placement, combined with under-seat storage. It is expected that the entry-level scooter will be called the “Orbiter”.
