TVS Motor Company and Hyundai Motor Company have reportedly begun testing a new ride-hailing platform centred around electric three-wheelers, marking an expansion of their collaboration beyond vehicle development.

The pilot project, called Blue Move, is currently being evaluated in Gurugram. According to reports, the service is operating within a limited area near Hyundai Motor India’s headquarters and is being tested by company employees as well as a select group of users.

The initiative builds on the strategic partnership announced earlier this year between the two companies to develop electric three-wheelers tailored for India’s last-mile mobility requirements. While Hyundai has been focusing on design and engineering inputs, TVS is expected to contribute its expertise in vehicle development, manufacturing and local market operations.

Industry observers view the pilot as a notable step because it moves the partnership beyond product development and into mobility services. If the project progresses to a commercial launch, it could allow both companies to participate in the growing shared-mobility ecosystem while also creating demand for electric three-wheelers.

Electric three-wheelers have emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments within India’s EV market, driven by lower operating costs and increasing adoption in urban transportation and delivery services. Several mobility operators and manufacturers are already competing in the space, making it a strategically important segment for future growth.

While details regarding a wider rollout remain limited, the pilot will likely help both companies assess customer acceptance, operational viability and infrastructure requirements before taking a decision on commercial deployment.

The development also reflects a broader trend within the automotive industry, where manufacturers are increasingly exploring mobility services in addition to traditional vehicle sales as they seek new business opportunities in an evolving transportation landscape.
