Just before the 300cc segment motorcycles are launched, TVS impresses its customers by launching the Matte Blue Edition Apache RTR which is surely a big change from the regular black or white paint schemes.

This festive season, go Matte Blue with the TVS Apache

TVS Motor Company is about to introduce higher capacity motorcycles in the market by the next financial year but in the meanwhile, they have launched a new paint scheme for the Apache. The new Matte Blue Edition with futuristic black-blue stripes is on sale with dual channel ABS (as an option for the 180) and a racing chassis. Apart from the paint scheme, the engine and other components remain somewhat similar to the current generation Apache. The price is likely to be similar to other colour variants of the Apache, with the RTR 180 ABS being priced at Rs. 87,282/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).

TVS has not made any mechanical changes to the Apache. The flagship Apache 180 is powered by the same 177.4cc, single-cylinder engine that crunches out 17.03 BHP and 15.5 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. All of this is bolted to a Double Cradle SynchroSTIFF chassis, which TVS like to call the ‘Racing Chassis’. 0-60 km/hr will take merely 4.5 seconds. The bike also comes with a dual-channel ABS to prevent any wheel locks under hard braking.

Just last week a matte blue Apache RTR 160 was spotted at a dealership and now TVS introduces the same blue in the RTR 180 ABS variant as well. Looks like TVS knows how to keep its customers happy, especially in the festive season. Moreover, a new generation Apache 200, based on the Draken X21 concept as showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi, has confirmed its arrival in the month of November.

The upcoming year will be even more exciting for TVS lovers as the company plans to launch a slew of performance oriented products. The South based company has always been slow in responding to rivals like Bajaj Auto, who have been quick to bring out new models to the market, the latest being the Pulsar AS 150 and AS 200 while earlier this year, the RS 200 was launched, becoming the first full-faired bike from the Chakan based automaker. TVS vs Bajaj would be an interesting battle to watch out next year.
