TVS has launched the NTORQ 125 scooter in India with prices starting from Rs. 58,750/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter was unveiled as the Graphite concept two years ago at the 2016 Auto Expo. TVS says this a sports-scooter with motorcycle like handling and riding capabilities. The sports scooter will be available in four colours – Matte Yellow, Green, White and Red.

Since this is a performance-oriented scooter let’s take you through the engine first. Powering the NTORQ 125 is a 124.79cc, single-cylinder, 3-valve, air-cooled motor that produces 9.4 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 10.5 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The powertrain is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. 0-60 km/hr comes up in 9 seconds and the top speed is rated at 95 km/hr. Not only the top speed, the power and torque figures too are best-in-class.

Coming to looks and design, TVS tells this is a stealth aircraft inspired scooter. Up front, there is a halogen headlight with LED DRL being mounted on the apron while the indicators are mounted on the handlebar. The front side panels get ‘125’ decals and the scooter gets a dual-tone colour theme. The rear end is the where the scooter looks distinctive. The T-shaped LED tail-light, faux carbon fibre finishing on the panels and the stubby muffler give it some attitude.

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and gas-filled hydraulic spring shock absorber at the rear. A 220 mm petal disc up front (segment-first) and a drum brake at the rear take care of anchorage. The 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are shod with a 100-section tyre at the front and 110-section rubber at the rear. This TVS scooter comes feature loaded. There is a full digital instrument cluster with a gaming console inspired speedometer and Bluetooth pairing. It gets a low battery indicator, service reminder, engine oil temperature, average speed, Navigation Assist, incoming call alert, incoming SMS alert, Last Parked Location Asisst, Exclusive Rider’s App.

Other highlights of the NTORQ 125 are Batwing Styled LED DRL, split grab rails, double-stitched Hysteresis seat, patented EZ Ccentre stand, handlebar weights, engine kill switch (segment-first) and pass by switch.
