TVS will display the Apache 300 Concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. It is also testing the Apache 160 and 180 on the roads currently and the same may be displayed too.

TVS spent a quiet 2015 with no new launches but witnessed increasing scooter sales and Apache sales. They were also busy working on the Apache RTR 200 4V which was unveiled a week ago. Unimpressive on paper, the bike got rave reviews from everyone and it has been priced well too. But, TVS doesn’t want the game to end here. Having partnered with BMW for developing motorcycles of which the G310R is a result, the Indian bikemaker is also said to be developing a 300cc variant of the Apache.

TVS mentioned that the brand Apache is known for street-fighter bikes so the Apache 300 will be a street-fighter. It is likely to make an appearance at the Auto Expo next week in the concept form. To draw styling and technology inspiration from the BMW G310R which is set to debut at the biennial event, the higher capacity Apache will be the flagship product for TVS when launched. The news in the air is that the motorbike is already under development while the codename ‘U69′ could be for a full-faired bike, also likely to be showcased at the event.

Not only this, TVS is also working on a new version of the 160cc and 180cc variants of the Apache. The new version is based on the Apache 200 4V and will look very similar to it. Recently, test mules of what look likes the lower capacity Apache’s were caught testing on road. The heavily camouflaged motorcycles reveal quite a few details such as the exhaust and a couple of more components which are similar to the ones seen on the recent launch.

The lower powered Apache will be getting a few changes so as to differentiate them from the 200cc variant. This includes a new handlebar (no clip-ons) and a missing cowl cover for the exhaust. The Apache 160 and Apache 180 have been in the market for very long and they deserve a proper update now. While the sales for both the bikes have been good over the past few years courtesy the strong fan following, the updated models may just take the game forward.
