Yamaha R15M Spied

The spied Yamaha R15M should be launched during the festive season

India Yamaha Motor’s soon-to-be launched R15M, a more sportier variant of the entry-level supersport motorcycle, has been spied undisguised.

Sporting Monster Energy Yamaha livery, the bike which comes with R7-inspired headlight section, was spotted at an exclusive event, which we think was held for the brand’s dealers.

Apart from the redesigned headlight area, where there are twin DRLs as well, the R15M features gold colour inverted front fork too.

It is not known if Yamaha has provided the R15M with more features than the regular model. It could come with Bluetooth connectivity and related features for all we know.

Type approval documents have revealed that the bike will be powered by the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine as the R15 V3. However, the power figure has been quoted as 18.35 PS, which is a bit lesser than the V3’s output.

The reason behind the nominal decrease in the power output is not known and an official word from the Japanese firm should clear things up.

At present the R15 costs between Rs. 1,56,600/- and Rs. 1,58,700/- (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect the recently spied Yamaha R15M to command a premium over the regular model when it gets launched in the market during the festive season.
