Piaggio Group has launched the Vespa RED edition in India, priced at Rs. 87,009/-.
Piaggio has partnered with RED (an organisation working to help fight AIDS) and has launched the Vespa RED edition in India with a sticker price of Rs. 87,009/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The scooter is based on the 125cc VXL variant of the Vespa. Bollywood celebrity, Farhan Akhtar, presented the scooter in Mumbai and also became the owner of the first Vespa RED scooter.
With every purchase of the Vespa RED, a sum of US $50 (approximately Rs. 3100) will be donated to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in India and also, each Vespa RED scooter sold can help provide more than 165 days of life-saving HIV medication which can help save a mother’s life and prevent her from passing the virus to her unborn baby.
The Vespa RED gets a unique red colour body paint, 12-inch red alloy wheels and a red art leather seat. The scooter comes powered by a 125cc motor that produces 10.06 HP of power and 10.6 Nm of torque. The 125cc mill comes paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. Other features include a 220 mm front disc brake, monocoque single piece steel body, aircraft-inspired single-sided front suspension and a digital instrument console.
Along with the scooter, you also get colour co-ordinated exclusive Vespa RED merchandise including a helmet, T-shirt and cap.
