The BS6-compliant version of the popular Yamaha R15 V3.0 has been launched at Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, the motorcycle costs just Rs. 4400/- more than its BS4 iteration. This introduction comes just a month after the company launched its first BS6-compliant 2-wheelers, the FZ and the FZ-S.

The 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the BS4 version produced 19.3 PS at 10,000 RPM and 14.7 Nm at 8500 RPM. It is to be noted that the switch to BS6 has dropped the power and the new model produces 18.6 PS and 14.1 Nm at similar points in the rev range.

The new YZF-R15 V3.0 will be offered in 3 colours – Racing Blue (Rs. 1.46 lakh), Thunder Grey (Rs. 1.45 lakh) and Darknight (Rs 1.47 lakh). The Racing Blue variant gets blue-coloured wheels, similar to the ones sold in Indonesia and other Asian markets.
