Leaked documents show the engine details and other specifications of the upcoming Yamaha MT-15.

Yamaha MT-15 India Specs

The India-bound Yamaha MT-15 will have the same engine specifications as it’s Thai counterpart, but will be slightly longer in length and will also stand taller than the other bike. It will be powered by the same 155.1cc, single-cylinder engine as fitted on the Yamaha R15 V3, which produces 19 PS of power, identical to the Thai-spec MT-15. The bike misses out on BS6 compliance, but is BS4 compliant, with the engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch as standard.

The bike will feature a basic, box-section swing-arm and regular telescopic forks instead of the USD one as seen on the Yamaha R15 V3. The India-spec MT-15 is also 55 mm wider than the Thai-spec bike and 5 mm taller than it. It will come with ABS as standard with the possibility of it being similar than the one fitted on the Yamaha R15 V3, which is a dual-channel set-up.

The India-bound Yamaha MT-15 gets the international-spec LED headlamps and LCD instrument cluster, along with alloy wheels and MRF tubeless tyres. The street-naked bike will be set-up on a deltabox frame which caters to a great balance between ride and handling of the bike. Test mules of the bike have been spotted quite a few times and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.20 lakhs.
