The Yamaha R15S V3 has a sticker price that is Rs. 13,200/- cheaper than the base V4
Yamaha has introduced the R15S V3 at a price of Rs. 1,57,600/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), today in India. The model is available only in the Racing Blue colour scheme.
Having launched the R15 V4 and the R15 M based on the V4 in September, Yamaha had seemingly ceased production of the V3. But, it turns out that the V3 will be available in the ‘S’ configuration with a single-piece seat.
Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, Motofumi Shitara has stated that the R15S V3 has been launched as the brand found its customers looking for an R15 with a more comfortable pillion seat.
Apart from the new seat, the R15S V3 looks identical to the regular V3, although the Racing Blue paint scheme does not come with blue wheels any more, and features the same equipment too.
Thus, the twin LED headlamps, LCD instrument display, aluminium swingarm, side stand engine cut-off and dual channel ABS are all present.
The R15S V3 is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, motor that produces a maximum of 18.6 PS at 10,000 RPM and 14.1 Nm of torque at 8500 RPM (0.2 PS more and 0.1 Nm less than the V4). The engine is teamed to a 6-speed manual transmission with an assist and slipper clutch.
