The Yamaha R15 V3 is expected to be powered by the same 150cc engine in a tuned state to produce more power and it is expected to be launched soon.

The third generation of the Yamaha R15 was spied testing in Indonesia along with the Mio M3-Z which is also due for launch. The R15 V3 is expected to make its global debut in the coming months to curb down competitors such as the Honda CBR150R facelift which is also expected to be launched in the near future.

The Yamaha R15 V3 in the spy shots indicate that the rear end of the faired bike will remain unchanged along with the high tail exhaust and LED tail lamp. The split seats also appear to be the same, however a bit more cushioning is something all the R15 enthusiasts desire.

The new-generation Yamaha R15 is expected to borrow certain elements from the recently launched street-fighter sibling Xabre or the M-Slaz as we know it. The LED headlamp, fully-digital instrument cluster and upside down front forks are expected to make it to the fully-faired bike while it will be built on the same Deltabox frame that underpins the current-gen R15.

The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is expected to be powered by the same 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, SOHC engine that in a tuned state produces 16.32 PS at 8500 RPM and 14.3 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM in the new Xabre. The 6-speed gearbox will most likely remain unchanged.

The first-generation of the Yamaha R15 was introduced in 2008 and impressed enthusiasts with its sporty looks and performance that were rare in those times. The V2.0 was launched in September 2011 with cosmetic updates and it was a hit in no time with similar popularity till date but a next-gen of the sports bike is necessary for it to stand against competitors.
