Discover 125 ST Test Ride Review

The war between Honda and Bajaj Auto is now getting hotter with each passing day. While Honda has aggressive plans of launching a new product every quarter, Bajaj Auto is replying in their own fashion. If Honda has aggressive plans, Bajaj is all set to reply with six new models of the Discover! Bajaj Auto says their key focus will be on the Discover lineup this financial year. Pune based manufacturer says that they may or may not launch all six this fiscal year but they sure are on the cards.

Out of the six Discovers, four of these products will be between Rs. 40,000 – 50,000/- price bracket, which means a new low cost 100cc variant will come in or probably a new 110cc is in the works. The Discover 100 DTS-SI is one the best sellers in the segment and the newly launched Discover 100T is here to target the premium customers in this segment. By offering more variants of the Discover, Bajaj Auto might risk cannibalisation but overall sales will grow, which is the current focus of the company.

The other two products will be priced between the Rs. 50,000 – 60,000/- price bracket, which means they will be positioned at the premium end. All these six products might not have many differences among them but Bajaj Auto wants to flood the market with the Discover, which will help them to outrun Honda. However the Japanese automaker has a mind of its own and is not even looking at Bajaj Auto. Instead the focus for Honda remains on overtaking Hero MotoCorp, which they expect to do by 2016.
