
Audi has launched the R S 5 Coupé in India, priced at Rs. 76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The R S 5 Coupé is powered by a 4.2 liter FSI V8 motor which produces 450 hp of power at 8,250 rpm, and peak torque of 430 Nm between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. . What this translates into is a 0 – 100 kmph time of just 4.6 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 280 kmph. Audi has received positive response to the R8 in India. The company has now decided to launch the RS5 Coupe at a price of Rs. 1 crore. The 2011 RS5 Coupe is powered by a reworked 4.2 liter V8 engine (which also powers the R8) producing 444 bhp of power at 8250rpm and 43.96kgm of torque at 4000rpm. What this results in is a 0 – 100 kmph sprint in just 4.6 seconds and a top whack of 250kmph (limited). Featuring Audi’s Quattro 4WD system, the RS5 Coupe is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and has drive select system, front splitter with bigger air intakes, 19-inch wheels (20-inch being optional) and a built in retractable spoiler (rises above 120kph). The RS5 Coupe will be launched by June, 2011 making it a direct competitor to the Mercedes C63 AMG.
