Hyundai Tucson Coming To The Expo!

The Hyundai Tucson came, saw and left India. Now in its next next generation, the new Tucson has not been officially confirmed for launch in the country. However multiple sightings of this CUV (crossover utility vehicle) suggest Hyundai is indeed interested to bringing back the vehicle to Indian roads. Now the Korean automaker plans to display the Tucson at the upcoming Auto Expo. This could be a good platform for the company to gauge customer feedback and conduct a small market survey to determine if they should launch the Tucson in India. [click to continue…]

Motorbeam forum member Monu spotted two Hyundai Tucson cars being driven in Kolkata. The cars were accompanied by a white Santa Fe and sported Bhutan number plates. The Tucson’s run in the Indian car market ended several years back but the new 2011 version looks promising. The Tucson is a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) and is much smaller than the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe costs close to Rs. 30 lakhs, so is Hyundai planning to revive the Tucson by launching it at Rs. 18 lakhs to directly compete in the highly profitable SUV segment?
