2014 Fiat Punto Facelift Leak

The 2014 Fiat Punto facelift has been caught testing on a number of occasions in the past with heavy camouflage. While the Punto facelift will not be a complete overhaul, the model is to get cosmetic changes to the exteriors and the interiors to keep the vehicle fresh for another couple of years. However, before the 2014 Punto facelift could make its official launch by the end of this year, Fiat accidentally revealed the 2014 facelift model in a company presentation.

The 2014 Fiat Punto gets cosmetic upgrades very similar to the Avventura crossover model. The Punto gets new headlights from the Avventura, while the grille too has been redesigned for a similar look. The bumper has been reworked upon for wider intakes and gets trapezoidal shaped fog lamp enclosures with chrome bezels. Inside the cabin, the new Punto will get updated interiors in-sync with the Linea facelift. Expect to see dual-tone dashboard, redesigned centre console and new upholstery as part of the update.

The powertrains are expected to be the same from the current model featuring two petrol and one diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol mill produces 68 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque, while the 1.4-litre petrol motor makes 90 PS and 115 Nm of torque. The 1.3-litre Multijet diesel is available in two states of tune namely 75 PS and 90 PS for the Indian market. All engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The presentation also confirmed that the 2014 Punto facelift will debut later this year. The facelift however is limited to the domestic market only and other markets where Fiat India exports the Punto. This is the second comprehensive update the Punto has received in its nine years of existence, the first one being the Punto Evo. Certainly, Fiat has some aggressive plans for the future. The next generation Punto will be part of the Panda family internationally and will debut in 2016.
