Maruti Swift DZire Facelift Spy

It is a known fact that Maruti Suzuki is going to update the Swift and Swift DZire in the near future. These updates are being done to keep up with rising competition. While the Swift is set to get changes like DRLs, updated fog lamp housing and redesigned bumpers, the Swift DZire too is going to get a minor facelift in a bid to make the product more appealing in front of the Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze. The Hyundai Xcent comes with a good equipment list and sales of the Amaze have already fallen thanks to the Xcent. Now, the facelifted Swift DZire has been spied and it carries some cosmetic changes and feature add-ons.

Up front, the Maruti Swift DZire gets smoked headlamps which look very sporty. The front bumper has been given a slight change in design along with the fog lamp housings which are now surrounded in chrome. The front grille gets a chrome garnish at the top which will be liked by the chrome-loving citizens of the country. The rear looks unchanged in the pictures because there is simply no place to add chrome there! The ZXi/ZDi variants might get DRLs. The interiors will get a couple of new features like push-button start and Bluetooth connectivity. We can also expect Maruti to launch a limited edition variant soon which will get some nice appealing stickers and seat covers that will just blow you off!!

The Maruti Swift DZire comes with petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre K-Series unit while the oil-burner is a 1.3-litre Multijet motor sourced from Fiat. It is highly unlikely that the updated DZire will come with mechanical changes. The vehicle is available in seven variants – LXi, VXi, VXi AT, ZXi for petrol and LDi, VDi, ZDi for diesel. These minor changes to the Swift DZire will go a long way in keeping its sales high while the Xcent and Amaze will continue to fight amongst themselves, with the Tata Zest joining in the battle soon.
