2015 Maruti Alto K10 Spy Shot

The Maruti Alto K10 is due for a replacement in January next year, the test mule of which was spotted on test by Gaadiwaadi.com. The 2015 Maruti Alto K10 was spotted testing near one of the company’s factory, minus any camouflage. Spotted from a distance, the new Alto K10 gets a complete design makeover taking inspiration from the new Alto 800 and the Celerio hatchbacks and now features a new tall boy design much more in-line with the competition.

The front seems to get sharper looking headlamps and a wider chrome induced grille, while the rear receives bigger tail lights. The side profile is very reminiscent of the new Alto 800 model. On the inside, expect the cabin to get tad bit premium over the regular Alto 800. Compared to the current model, the cabin will see a significant increase in headroom and legroom courtesy of the new tall boy design. You can expect some more gadgetry inclusive of power windows, central locking, internally adjustable rearview mirrors and a better audio system.

The updated Alto K10 will continue to be powered by the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder, K-Series petrol engine that produces 68 PS of power at 6200 RPM and 90 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Speculations also suggest that Maruti could introduce the Alto K10 with the new automated manual transmission (AMT) unit as well. While it is still not sure, the AMT unit if offered will be competing against the Tata Nano AMT variant, set to make its debut next year.

The current Alto K10 is a very fuel efficient vehicle returning a mileage of 20.92 km/l, which is expected to increase or remain consistent when the 2015 facelift model is launched. The updated Alto K10 will be competing against the Hyundai Eon which now comes with a 1.0-litre petrol motor and the newly launched Datsun GO which comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine.
