2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon

The all-new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been given an early unveiling this week thanks to spy shots taken during its filming in the USA. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class was supposed to make its official debut at the Detroit Motor Show this January. The automaker’s latest design language makes the car look more aggressive than the outgoing model. The spy car bears the AMG styling package making it look much more upscale than the outgoing car while blending in the design DNA of its flagship S-Class and the smaller CLA saloons into an intermediate package.

Mercedes-Benz have already divulged details and official photos of the interiors revealing a sporty cabin with SLS-inspired cabin vents, a large independent screen of 7-inch (optional 8-inch) with a touchpad within the lower centre console, head-up display showing multiple details and silver lights throughout. This raises the bar in terms of styling and according to the company, the quality as well and definitely brings the game to the highest level we have seen yet.

One of the other highlights of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the manner in which it has managed to shave off nearly 100 kgs of weight over its predecessor. Usage of aluminum hybrid body along with other measures is the key. The car also sports new four-link front and five-link rear suspension with aluminum components which is a first on the C-Class. An optional Airmatic air suspension will be offered. Safety systems offered on E-Class and S-Class will be available on the all new C-Class!

The engine options likely to make its way to the all-new C-Class would be the C220 CDI producing 170 BHP, the C250 CDI producing 204 BHP and the C350 producing 306 BHP. The co-operation with Renault will ensure the four-cylinder diesel engine will find its way into the new C-Class. This comprises a familiar range of force-fed 4-cylinder and V6 gasoline and diesel options. A hybrid drivetrain will be introduced soon after the launch. The AMG variant will feature a turbo-charged 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 450 BHP of power. This car will definitely compel other automakers to go back to their drawing boards and come up with even more competitive products. The India launch of the new C-Class will take place next year.
