Suzuki has officially unveiled its new 2017 S-Cross facelift. The car now gets an updated design and interesting changes under the hood. The S-Cross will go on sale in the European markets by 30th September 2016, and is expected to make it to Indian shores by early 2017.

The new S-Cross gets a highly revamped front end as can be seen in the photos. The car now gets a much more SUV like image, with the vertically slated chrome grille and the edgy headlamps. The drastic mid-life styling change might come due to many customers complaining about the current car’s somewhat bland and humble styling. The car also gets new projector headlamps, and LED DRLs which give it an angry expression. The front bumper cladding has also been revised to compliment the updated design. On the rear, the taillights have got slightly different detailing, which makes them look sleek.

On the interior, Suzuki states that it has updated the fit, finish and quality of materials that have been used. The car gets the same 7-inch touch screen infotainment display seen on the current S-Cross. All in all, the interiors stay mostly identical to the currently sold car.

The most interesting change however comes under the hood. The new S-Cross comes with two new BoosterJet options. A 1.0-litre unit which is good for 112 HP of power and 170 Nm of torque, and a 1.4-litre unit which churns out 140 HP of power and 220 Nm of torque. While it’s highly doubtful that the 1.4 will make it to India, the 1.0-litre engine might come as a shared unit between the Baleno and the S-Cross.
