The two-wheeler segment in India is being led by Honda’s Activa for a fair share of this year. In fact, when we look at the Top 10 Selling two-wheelers in 1st quarter of FY 2016-17, we can see that it’s been all Activa till now, as the Splendor takes second place.

Two Wheeler Sales FY 2016-17 Q1 Table
The Activa, in spite of its recent decline, remains the market leader when it comes to sales

The Indian two-wheeler market is being led by a scooter for quite a while now. The Honda Activa seems to have an iron grip on the throne, and doesn’t seem to be giving it up any time soon. The former king of the hill, the Splendor has been losing out to the Activa in recent times. What was first thought of to be a one off sales boost, has become a segment mainstay now.

When it comes to manufacturers however, Hero still has the top bragging rights. As the company has 4 products which have dug their claws in the top 10 sales chart. The third, fourth and fifth positions are bagged by the Hero HF Deluxe, Passion, and the Glamour respectively. The Deluxe and the Passion have been facing a slowdown in sales, while the Glamour seems to be getting a positive growth over the months.

On no. 6, we have the TVS XL Super, which also shows a general growth over the three months. On no. 7 comes Honda’s CB Shine which has also been steadily growing its numbers. Bajaj seems to have has a slow start to this financial year, as both of its products have registered a steady down trend. The Bajaj CT and the Pulsar at no. 8 and 9 both have suffered a slowdown in sales. To end this list, we have yet another scooter. The TVS Jupiter, which has registered higher sales in June than both the Bajaj products, but loses out on the total.
