Jeep Renegade price to start under Rs. 10 lakhs, will be made at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility like the Compass.
Jeep, the SUV brand under Fiat-Chrylser Automobiles (FCA) will be driving its first-ever India made model, the Compass SUV this August. We’ve seen the SUV, we know the variants it comes in, we’ve also driven the C-segment model. And man we’re all smiles after driving it. The Jeep Compass is being locally made at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility.
Meanwhile, Jeep is also readying the launch of its sub 4-metre compact SUV Renegade for the Indian market and prices are likely to start from Rs. 10 lakhs. This compact SUV too will be made at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility which will enable Jeep to price it very aggressively and competitively.
At that price point, the Jeep Renegade will be a worthy rival to the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the upcoming SsangYong Tivoli based SUV from Mahindra. Test mules of the Renegade have been spotted regularly featuring a black interior with all the bells and whistles.
The Renagade could borrow engines from the Avventura and Urban Cross but expect Jeep to retune them for the Renegade. The top of the line variant could also be offered with a 4-wheel drive system.
