2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite has been launched in the country at a price of Rs. 48 lakhs.

Based out of Massachusetts in the US, Indian Motorcycles announced its updated 2018 lineup in July last year which included the Roadmaster Elite and Springfield Dark Horse among others. The American brand has now launched the 2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite in India. Standing true to its name, the Roadmaster Elite is exclusive in real sense with worldwide availability limited to only 300 units. The first unit of the motorcycle has already been sold to a Mumbai-based business tycoon.

At Rs. 48 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the limited production model commands a premium of around Rs. 8 lakhs over the standard Roadmaster. It features a custom-inspired dual-tone candy paint scheme which is hand-painted and takes over 30 hours to complete. Pushing up its exclusivity further is the 23K (karat) gold leaf badging on the fuel tank and lowers.

The bagger gets ample chrome detailing, electrically adjustable windshield, all-LED lights, passenger armrests and billet aluminium floorboards as well. Besides a Ride Command touchscreen unit on the premium touring console, Indian also offers a 300-watt audio system, dual-climate heated seats, pinnacle mirrors and heated grips.

Staying true to its long distance touring nature, the Roadmaster Elite gets a 1811cc, V-Twin engine that develops around 73 HP of power and 150 Nm of torque. Mated to the Thunder-Stroke 111 motor is a 6-speed gearbox which transmits power to the rear wheel via a belt drive system. Weighing in at 628 kgs, the cruiser is suspended on telescopic forks up front and a single pneumatic shock absorber at the rear.

Braking department is headed by two 300 mm discs at the front and a single 300 mm disc at the rear. The Roadmaster Elite rides on 16-inch cast wheels shod with Dunlop tyres. The motorcycle will be imported as a CBU and is only available in the Cobalt Candy + Black Crystal paint scheme. With this one, Indian plans to target the likes of Harley-Davidson CVO Limited.
