Kawasaki will sell the 2018 Ninja ZX-10R via the CKD route in India in a bid to make it more affordable

Kawasaki has commenced taking bookings for the 2018 Ninja ZX-10R in India. The track-focused litre-class superbike can be booked for a minimum token amount of Rs. 3 lakhs. The launch is scheduled to happen towards the end of this month or in early July with deliveries beginning shortly thereafter.

The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R will be assembled at the company’s facility in Chakan with the kits being imported from Japan. Assembling via the CKD route will enable the bikemaker to price the ZX-10R very aggressively. The price expectation for the motorcycle is around Rs. 14 lakhs (ex-showroom) which makes it a steal deal when compared to the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP’s price tag of Rs. 18.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R draws power from a 998cc, inline 4-cylinder, fuel injected engine that produces 197 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Top speed is electronically limited to 299 km/hr! Currently, Kawasaki assembles the Z250, Ninja 300, Z650, Ninja 650, Versys 650 and Ninja 1000 in India.
