Mahindra will launch the Alturas on November 24 and it will be available in two variants.

Indian SUV giant, Mahindra will launch its flagship SUV, the Alturas on November 24. The SUV is based on the SsangYong Rexton and the Alturas will be available in two trims – the G2 and G4.

The Alturas gets dual-chamber HID projector headlamps, LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators. Both the G2 and G4 variants sit on 18-inch alloy wheels. The G4 trim gets a sunroof and rest exteriors of both the variants are the same.

The car comes with powered and ventilated front seats with memory function, MID instrument cluster, electronic parking brake and a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The G2 trim has a black and grey Nappa leather upholstery, whereas the seats of G4 trim are wrapped with black and tan Nappa leather upholstery. Another additional feature of the G4 trim is that it comes with handsfree boot opening.

Powering the Alturas is a 2.2-litre diesel unit that churns out 180.5 BHP and 450 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that has been sourced from Mercedes.

However, the G2 variant will be a rear-wheel drive vehicle and the G4 will be a four-wheel drive. The bookings of the Alturas has already commenced and when launched it will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu MU-X.
