There is a sharper and rounder looking front on the 2018 Maruti Ciaz

It is a known fact that the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift will be launched in August this year. While the car has already been spied earlier, new images have cropped up which show the car in much better light. The car looks to have gotten major updates at the front while the rear remains more or less the same with minute enhancements.

The spy shots of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift give a clear idea about how the car looks like from the inside and outside. There’s now a rounder looking front, with a smiling grille that fuses with the headlights. Adding to this new look is the redesigned bonnet that flows upwards from the grille. The 2018 Ciaz facelift also gets LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, enhancing the look further.

The front bumper now sports a wider air dam that is connected directly to the fog lamp inserts. At the rear, except for new inserts for the LED tail lamps and chrome detailing on the rear bumper, the overall styling remains the same. The car now sits on newly designed diamond-cut alloy wheels. There’s of course ample use of chrome at the front.

On the inside too there are noticeable updates. These include a new instrument cluster and multi-info display, faux wood trim, an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and new upholstery for the seats and door pads. Cruise control and auto headlights too will come with the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

Mechanically too, the car will be getting an update with an all-new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine. This will replace the earlier 1.4-litre engine. The new engine is capable of producing 103 HP and 138 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 1.3-litre diesel engine will be offered as it is and it produces 89 HP and 200 Nm of peak torque.

Both the engines will come with mild-hybrid technology called the SHVS system. It comes with start-stop technology and uses an integrated starter generator (ISG). The ISG functions as a battery charger during braking and acts as the starter motor when the start-stop technology is in use. SHVS-equipped cars also get an electric boost via the Engine Power Assist (EPA) system, where the ISG supplements the engine’s power during acceleration.

All the above spotted features belong to the top-spec variant of the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and will change according to the variant you buy.

Some Maruti Suzuki NEXA dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift for an amount ranging between Rs. 11,000/- to Rs. 21,000/-. Official launch of the car will take place next month and deliveries will only begin after that.
