2018 Maruti Wagon R Spied In India
The spotted test mule bears no resemblance to the Wagon R on sale in India

Remember the mini MPV showcased by Maruti Suzuki at the 2012 Auto Expo? This is it, the Suzuki Solio. The Japanese compact MPV has been spotted testing in India without any camouflage, apart from the hidden Suzuki logo. The bigger Wagon R has been spotted testing in Gurugram, where the Maruti plant is and we can expect the carmaker to launch it in India soon.

The Suzuki Solio is a Wagon R platform based 7-seater which is also offered in a 5-seater layout. We can expect the carmaker to showcase it at the upcoming Auto Expo. Maruti might launch it as a premium Wagon R offering in the near future based on the customer response.

In terms of styling, the Suzuki Solio has a very boxy design language, which is typically tallboyish. However, it features modern styling elements such as crystal clear tail lamps and edgy cosmetics. The car internationally gets electric sliding doors, feature loaded cabin with the latest infotainment system having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Suzuki Solio measures just under four metres in length and if launched in India, we will see the car getting the staple 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine options. You might also expect Maruti to give it the AGS (AMT) transmission option along with a manual gearbox.
