Maserati has launched the 2018 Quattroporte GTS in India priced at Rs. 2.7 crores (ex-showroom). Initially showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the sports sedan is available in two trims – GranLusso and GranSport with bookings already being commenced. The 2018 iteration gets subtle styling tweaks and new features as well.

The GranLusso trim adds luxury while the GranSport as the name suggests is a more sports-oriented variant. The GranSport gets aggressive front and rear bumpers with gloss black finish, blue inserts on the Trident and Saetta logo and 21-inch alloy wheels (the GranLusso gets 20-inch Mercurio wheels). There are new adaptive LED headlights with glare-free high beam assist. On the GranSport trim, you also get optional exterior carbon package which adds carbon finished ORVMs, front bumper, door handles and B-pillar cover.

Inside the cabin, you get a new 8.4-inch Maserati Touch Control Plus infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and phone mirroring function. The touchscreen infotainment can be operated via the rotary dial in the centre console or via voice commands as well. You can opt for the 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkin Surround sound system (optional), however, you still get a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system as standard. Bathed in new leather upholstery, the interior boasts of impeccable detailing and looks modern and plush.

Under the hood of the 2018 Quattroporte GTS is a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol motor that churns out 530 horses and 710 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels, the GTS does the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4.7 seconds. Safety tech includes six airbags, active headrests, Active Blind Spot Assist, front and rear parking sensors with reverse camera, surround view camera and Traffic Sign Recognition.
