Honda City Booking Amount — The 5th generation model is longer and wider than its predecessor

The 2020 Honda City launch is coming closer as the bookings have commenced across the country. The c-segment sedan is expected to hit the showrooms by mid-July and deliveries will commence at the time of the price announcement.

The new 5th generation City can be booked online and at the authorised dealerships too. However, the online booking amount is just Rs. 5000/-, whereas the dealership booking amount is Rs. 21,000/-.

Yes it is the new “Honda from Home” online sales platform from the Japanese carmaker where customers can choose the model, variants, colours and other preferences online without the need of visiting the dealership. In the current social distancing scenario, it is a good option to have.

The City has been the longest running name in the C-segment sedan space in India. It has seen many ups and downs, specially with the transition to diesel powered cars a decade back when they only had petrol offerings. They took time but came up with diesel engine option but then there was some stiff competition to face.

Nonetheless, the City didn’t lose its popularity in our county. With its latest generation avatar it is expected to have a huge impact in the segment after a long while. Honda claims it to be the longest and widest sedan in the segment.

It will be offered with a new 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine along with the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. The former will be available with both 6-speed manual and CVT transmission options. The diesel will only be available with a 6-speed manual.
