2021 Ducati Monster Launch
The Monster Plus gets the flyscreen and passenger seat cover

Ducati says test rides and deliveries of the 2021 Monster will begin soon after its launch

Ducati India has announced that the launch of the 2021 Monster will take place on 23rd September. Pre-bookings, however, commence today.

The booking amount for the new generation Monster, which will be available in 2 variants – Monster and Monster Plus – has been set at Rs. 1 lakh.

Revealed in December 2020, the 2021 Ducati Monster replaced the 797, 821 and 821 Stealth models in the brand’s global lineup and strayed away from the path taken by its predecessors by shunning the trellis frame.

2021 Ducati Monster Cluster
Think of the Monster as a Ducati SuperSport, but without the fairing and restyled bodywork

Instead, it has what Ducati calls a ‘Front Frame’ which is neither a perimeter frame, nor a monocoque design. Also new are the double-sided swingarm, subframe and cast wheels, all of which help keep the motorcycle’s weight down to 188 kg (wet).

The Italian brand says the 2021 Monster comes with revised ergonomics, thanks to repositioned handlebar, lowered foot pegs, and improved agility.

In terms of features, the naked motorcycle has a full-LED lighting with dynamic turn indicators, a 4.3-inch TFT display screen, USB socket, 3 riding modes (Sport, Urban and Touring), Cornering ABS, Launch Control, Traction Control and Wheelie Control.

The seat height (818 mm as standard) can be lowered to either 800 mm or 775 mm

Power comes from a 937cc Testastretta 11-degree L-twin that puts out a maximum of 111 HP and 93 torques. It is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox which features a bi-directional quickshifter too.

When the 2021 Ducati Monster launch takes place, exact details like colours and standard equipment, apart from the price, of the India-spec model will be revealed.
