2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S
The bikemaker has concentrated hard on the ergonomics

KTM has revealed the 2021 1290 Super Adventure S with key updates including an upgraded electronics package, including the addition of adaptive cruise control.

Looks-wise, the big adventure bike’s bodywork has been revised since the Austrian marque has taken the model back to the wind tunnel to further optimise how air flows over and around the motorcycle and rider.

Thus, there is a new windscreen with 55 mm height adjustability, a new 23-litre fuel tank and an adjustable seat which is now a bit lower due to the revised subframe. While all these are might not be noticeable, people will not miss to notice the LED headlight with the radar sensor.

Changes have been made to the chassis as well. KTM has moved the steering head back by 15 mm, extended the swingarm by 15 mm and revised the V-twin engine’s placement as well.

Speaking of which, the 1301cc 75-degree V-twin is marginally lighter (thanks to thinner engine cases and reworked oil circulation), Euro 5-compliant and puts out a maximum of 160 HP and 138 Nm of torque. It features 2 new radiators as part of the revised oil/water cooling system.

Coming to the electronics package of the bike, the rider would first see a new 7-inch TFT cluster (tilt adjustable) and the new switchgear after throwing a leg over the seat.

On the move, it would be fairly easy to notice that the 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S comes with a comprehensive electronics package. It has a 6-axis IMU, traction control, cornering ABS, semi-active suspension, lean angle sensing, TPMS and a specific off-road ride mode with traction control and ABS.

Of course, there is the adaptive cruise control that KTM has sourced from Bosch that has 5 levels of adjustment and keeps the motorcycle at a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

While the above mentioned kit are offered as standard on the 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, there are plenty of optional equipment like a “Pro” suspension package and a Rally Pack that come with a “Tech Pack” which adds the Quickshifter+ and a few other equipment.
