2021 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Facelift
The overall design is unlikely to be changed

2021 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has been spied in Chennai and we suspect, the firm might be working on a facelift of its 650 twins.

Royal Enfield plans to launch a new motorcycle every quarter for the next 7 years and the although products like the new Classic 350 will steal the limelight, facelifted versions of its 650 twins will be introduced to keep them fresh.

It is likely that the bikes will not sport any massive changes, with the midlife refresh only bringing in a new colour palette as there is nothing seemingly wrong with the bikes.

But, no product is faultless and the 650 twins do have their fair share of small niggles, like the position of passenger foot pegs and rear shocks that need to offer a bit more damping.

To sort them out, buyers have taken to the aftermarket sector and if Royal Enfield has taken note of that, these teething problems should be ironed out.

On one occasion, with regard to the need for alloy wheels on its biggest motorcycles, Royal Enfield did listen to its customer base and come February next year, it will offer alloy wheel options for the 650 twins.

There is, however, the possibility of the Tripper Navigation, first introduced in the Meteor 350, making its way to the premium 650cc bikes.

No changes are expected on the powertrain front though. The 648cc parallel-twin motor is expected to churn out the same 47 BHP and 52 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

An official announcement regarding the launch of the facelifted 650 twins is expected from the bikemaker in 2021. If we had to guess, it might happen during the second half of 2021 with a slight bump in the asking price.
