The asking price of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 automatic starts from Rs. 12.79 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 14.55 lakhs
After a long list of teasers on its social media handles, Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2022 XL6 with a starting price of Rs. 11.29 lakhs, which is the recently launched 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s premium Nexa counterpart. This is the first facelift for the car which was launched in 2019
Those the silhoutte of the 2022 models remains identical to the previous version inside out, there are subtle revisions throughout the car and we can call it an evolutionary change. But the new MPV has been loaded to the brim with features.
On the outside, the XL6 sports a revised grille at the front segmented by a broad split chrome strip that links the two headlights. The bumpers have been reworked to differentiate the car from the previous model. A quad-chamber LED reflector headlamp setup along with LED DRLs light up the road.
There are 3 variants on offer on the XL6 which will compete against the likes of the Kia Carens – Zeta, Alpha and Alpha +.
A new set of 16-inch machine-finished dual-tone alloy wheels, gloss-black finish on B and C pillars, and fender side garnish with chrome element adorn the car from the side and provide a better stance to the MPV.
At the rear, there’s a chrome strip running across the width. The panel surrounding the logo gets a black finish, a common design language adopted in the XL6. A roof mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna complete the package while 3D LED tail lamps with light-guide smoke grey lens add to the detailing.
The colours on offer include Nexa blue, arctic white, splendid silver, grandeur grey, brave khaki, opulent red for Zeta and Alpha variants while Alpha + gets Nexa blue, arctic white, splendid silver, grandeur grey, and dual tone colours – splendid silver with black roof, brave khaki with black roof, and opulent red with black roof.
The 2022 XL6 gets a new K15C 1.5-litre DualJet DualVVT petrol motor that exerts 101.65 HP at 6000 RPM and 136.8 Nm at 4400 RPM coupled either to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The old 4-speed automatic has been discontinued. Like many other Maruti cars, the XL6 gets a mild-hybrid system what Maruti calls ‘Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology’ that sports a start/stop feature along with integrated starter generator (ISG).
As said earlier, the XL6 is loaded with a lot of features. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro Studio and and the hyped ‘Suzuki Connect’ with 40 remote access features along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Ventilated front seats make their way into the top-end variant. Other features include tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera and a infrared-reflective UV-proof windshield.
Coming to safety aspects, the new XL6 gets 4 airbags, ESP, and hill hold assist as standard across all variants. Unlike the Ertiga, the XL6 will come only with the option of 6 seats of which 4 will be captain seats for increased comfort.
The claimed fuel efficiency stands at 20.97 km/l for manual and 20.27 km/l for the automatic.
