2024 Hyundai Santa Fe gets boxy styling
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe revealed officially ahead of its world premiere in August. The fifth generation Santa Fe exhibits the new design direction of Hyundai SUVs that looks completely different than their current design DNA.
The three row SUV gets a longer wheelbase to improve interior room and cargo space. It gets the H-shaped design elements on the exterior which includes the headlights and tail lights. There is a strong resemblance to the Land Rover Defender from some angles.
The boxy design with muscular wheel arches and strong shoulder line without any curves makes it look quite rugged. It comes with 21-inch wheels.
Expect to see the new lot of Hyundai SUVs carrying the same design philosophy including the India bound Hyundai Creta facelift that was spotted recently. Even the recently launched Hyundai Exter gets similar exterior treatment.
The interior too looks very different than the current lot of Hyundai cars. It has a premium looking dashboard with a Panoramic Curved Display connecting the two 12.3-inch digital cluster and infotainment system screens.
The steering wheel too looks very similar to the Land Rover SUVs and even some bits in the centre console have that appearance. There are two wireless charging pads ahead of the front arm rest. There is a huge storage space below the centre console. Overall the cabin looks neat and tidy while offering practical features.
The second and third row seats fold completely flat to optimise cargo space. You can also notice the dual sunroof layout of the SUV.
Hyundai has not announced any technical specifications and even the entire list of features has not been revealed. However, we have noticed a 2.5T logo on the tailgate which means it might come with a turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol unit which delivers around 281 HP and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. We will get to know more details about the new SUV next month during the world premiere of the new Santa Fe.
