100 limited edition examples to be sold in India

Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan scheduled to launch by the end of this year in India

Fisker, an American electric vehicle maker, has announced its plans to produce 100 units of the Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition, an all-electric SUV specifically for the Indian market. It is named after the company’s India subsidiary. This development comes after the introduction of the Fisker Ocean Extreme in Europe and the United States.

To cater to the Indian market, Fisker established an office in Hyderabad in 2022. The company is currently working towards completing the homologation process for the Extreme Vigyan Edition. It is expected that the homologation will be finalised by September, with deliveries to Indian customers commencing in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The pricing of the Vigyan Edition in India will be aligned with the European market, where the Fisker Ocean Extreme is priced at 69,950 EUR for the German market. Import taxes and logistics for India will be factored into the pricing structure. This means it will be priced over Rs. 70-75 lakhs easily.

In terms of styling, it resembles the Range Rover Evoque from some angles. It has a SolarSky roof that can generate energy from solar power. It has a huge vertical 17.1-inch touchscreen, 15-speaker audio system, digital rearview mirror, powered tailgate, etc.

It can do 0-100 km/hr in around 3.7 seconds and has AWD system as well with the dual motor option. It has three driving modes – Earth, Fun and Hyper.

In Europe, the electric SUV has a WLTP range of 707 km in full charge. The American EV maker claims it has the longest range available in the European market today.

While the company will directly import the EV to India via CBU. They plan to locally assemble the car in India in the next few years if it gathers good attention in the country.

Fisker aims to offer exclusive access to the first 100 customers in India who are interested in owning the Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition. Those interested can reach out to Fisker via email at vigyanedition@fiskerinc.com.
