
2026 Audi A6 Revealed, Lowest Drag Coefficient Of Any ICE Powered Audi To Date
Audi has revealed the new generation of the A6 sedan. The new model is smoother than before and incorporates a technology-centric interior. The sedan is expected to launch in the second half of 2025.
Styling
The Audi A6 has an understated design that incorporates a more stylish front end. The bodywork has been created to minimise the drag coefficient to 0.23. It is the lowest of any ICE-powered Audi to date.
Wheels & Suspension
The latest generation of the Audi A6 rides on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) which have state-of-the-art electronics for future relevance. The standard suspension sees improvement and it also has a ride-lowering suspension for company. The wheel sizes range from 19 inches to 21 inches.
The optional air suspension can be 20mm lower than the standard suspension in normal mode and an additional 10mm in sport mode is also available which can be voice activated to raise or lower the car. The 492 litre boot space can be accessed with the help of 40:20:40 split rear seats.
Interior
Audi has prioritized the use of technology for the interior of the A6. The 11.9-inch driver display and 14.5-inch infotainment system are the centre point of the interior, known as the ‘Digital Stage’. There is also an optional 10.9-inch passenger display and head-up display.
The Bang & Olufsen sound system can be optioned as 16-speaker or 20-speaker setup, producing 685 watts and 810 watts respectively. Audi has also put enhanced sound deadening by 30% that make the A6 quieter then before. The optional features are plentiful with 4 zone climate control, door-close assist, sunroof that can switch from clear to translucent.
Engine Options
The Audi A6 is powered by three engine options. The petrol engine includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 201 HP and 340 Nm of torque and a larger 3.0-litre V6 with mild hybrid tech which comes with Quattro all-wheel-drive, producing 362 HP and 550 Nm of torque.
There is also the 2.0 TDI engine, which produces 201 HP and 400 Nm of torque with Quattro all-wheel drive. The cars with the all-wheel-drive system will be able to send up to 70% of the power to the rear axle. All the engines are mated to a 7-speed DCT.
Outlook
The new generation of the Audi A6 is also one of the first models to use the brand’s simpler model naming system. It prioritises technology in a manner that previous generations didn’t. It is also important to note that the A6 is unique enough to be easily differentiated from the Audi A6 e-tron EV counterpart. The new A6 will launch in India at some point in 2026.
