Brazilian debut of the next-gen Ford EcoSport will be in 2021.

Next Generation Ford Ecosport Side
The EcoSport will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine for the Brazilian market

The Ford EcoSport was launched in 2013 in India and it created the sub-4 metre SUV segment here. Ford is currently working on the 3rd-generation of the EcoSport, which is going to be reminiscent of the Ford Mustang Mach-E pure electric SUV.

Visually, the next-gen Ford EcoSport gets a more SUV-ish look, unlike the crossover styling of the existing model. Upfront, there is a new V-beehive grille flanked by a pair of horizontal LED headlamps and sleek LED daytime running lamps connected by a chrome slat on the grille. The bumper gets a wider air-dam, chrome inserts around the fog lamps and a sculpted bonnet.

From the side, there is heavy black cladding that runs across the body from the wheel arches, below the doors all the way to the rear bumper. It also features dual-tone ORVMS, newly designed rooflines and a set of new alloy wheels.

The EcoSport’s back is all-new with plenty of changes such as newly-designed wraparound LED tail-lights with black insert displaying the EcoSport badging. We also see a roof-mounted spoiler, shark-fin antenna, and a plastic cladding rear bumper with a skid plate.

Talking about the interior, the car is expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Sync 4 infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Overall, the EcoSport will look sportier with the next-generation model. The wheelbase will grow up to 2.6 metres which will form a more spacious cabin.

The 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine from the Dragon engine family will be carried over.
