Bajaj Auto To Launch New GoGo E-Rickshaw, Will Feature A Lithium-Ion Battery
Bajaj Auto is set to launch its next offering under the GoGo electric 3-wheeler brand. The brand created a lot of hype by topping the market, a little over 3 months after launching. The brand aims to sell 40,000 e-rickshaws as it gradually scales up and enhances last-mile connectivity.
Market Positioning
The new e-rickshaw will feature a lithium-ion battery and position itself as a premium offering in the e-rickshaw space. The GoGo e-rickshaw has its popularity in the northern and eastern regions of India. Local startups and Mahindra & Mahindra, with its Treo Yaari dominate the space.
The new e-rickshaw may also resonate with the Indian audience, similar to the Yaari suffix. The e-rickshaw space is competitive and unique, requiring seating for 4, slightly longer than traditional rickshaws, and having a top speed of just 25 Km/hr.
Expected Battery Information
Regarding the electric battery, the new GoGo e-rickshaw can utilise the larger 12.1 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 251 Km in the GoGo P7012. Additionally, there is also the option for a smaller 9.2 kWh battery pack, giving a range of 176 Km. We expect the new e-rickshaw to feature two-speed transmission, auto hazard, anti-roll detection, hill hold assist, LED lighting, and metal construction.
Pricing
The new e-rickshaw may be more expensive than the GoGo P7012, which is priced at Rs. 3.83 Lakh (ex-showroom). However, more details regarding the e-rickshaw will be revealed closer to the launch. ,
