The 2015 Bajaj Avenger range will be available in two versions Cruise and Street, with models retaining the outgoing 220cc engine with hopefully better power output.

Having upgraded the Pulsar lineup comprehensively for the year, Bajaj Auto shifted focus to its silent seller, the Avenger that has been due for an update since quite some time now. With the festive season underway, the automaker is set to launch two new versions of its cruiser in the country. Spotted close to Bajaj Auto’s Chakan facility, these new leaked images completely reveal the bikes which include the 220 Cruise and 220 Street confirming that the outgoing powerplant will be retained.

Starting the 2015 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise, the cruiser evolves from the outgoing version but gets more cosmetic upgrades including more chrome induced parts, chrome badging and cover for the indicators on the fuel tank, tall windscreen (could be offered as optional) and re-designed back support. The single-tone paint job from the outgoing version has been retained on the 2015 model year update.

Next up is the 2015 Bajaj Avenger 220 Street which is decidedly the opposite of the Cruise version and sheds away the shiny chrome bits in favour of a matte black paint job. You get fork gaiters covering the front forks along with black painted instrument console, alloy wheels, rear springs, headlight cluster as well as engine. The grab rail is new but does not get back support. You also get new red graphics running across the tank and side panels while the side stand has been left in chrome.

In terms of power, Bajaj is likely to retain the 220cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder DTS-i engine on the new Avenger range but the same could see a slight bump in power, a little more than the current version’s 19.03 PS and 17.5 Nm of torque. The 5-speed gearbox will also be retained. Bajaj is yet to share the launch date of the new Avenger series but given the fact that the models are ready, we don’t see it being too far away from going on sale.
