The Cruise 220 is powered by the regular 220cc, oil-cooled engine

Bajaj Avenger is the first cruiser bike to be locally produced by an Indian company while it has seen three updates since its launch in 2005 and the first variant was powered by a 178.6cc engine. The first update was launched in 2007 with a 200cc engine followed by the launch of a 220cc engine in 2010 while the latest update came in the form of Street 150 and 220 and Cruise 220 models.

The last update seems to have achieved what the predecessors could not have imagined, Bajaj is reported to have sold nearly 31,000 units in February, however, no official numbers are announced yet. If the reports turn out to be true, it will be a proud figure for the automaker to boast about.

The Bajaj Avenger managed to sell 28,085 units in January of which Street 150 sold 15,722 units while the Street 220 and Cruise 220 accounted for a joint sale of 12,363 units. The cruiser bike managed to enter the list of top 10 selling bikes in December for the first time with 20,182 units and continued to stay there in January too.

Bajaj has already started working to maintain these numbers and it has recently launched a teaser for the upcoming TVC of the Avenger which claims that the cruiser helps you rise above the daily rat race. The Bajaj Avenger is aimed at becoming the best-selling cruiser bike in India with the Royal Enfield Classic series still having an upper hand in sales.
