Bajaj Dominar 400 is the new name for the Kratos 400 power cruiser

Pulsar CS 400 > Pulsar VS 400 > Bajaj Kratos 400 > Bajaj Dominar 400, that’s the story of the upcoming flagship Bajaj motorcycle. We can confirm through our sources that the Kratos 400 has been renamed to Bajaj Dominar 400 and the bike is set for launch by mid-December.

Bajaj Auto renamed the Kratos 400 to Dominar 400 due to a likely issue with trademark of the former name. This name change has resulted in a delay of a month of the launch of the cruiser bike which wowed everyone as the Pulsar CS 400 concept at the 2014 Auto Expo.

The Kratos name was well accepted (we were the first to break the story) and stood for strength and authority, according to Greek mythology. Meanwhile, Dominar means ‘to dominate’ and that’s what Bajaj Auto’s latest motorbike intends to do in the cruiser segment by taking on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Classic 500 models.

Based on the KTM Duke 390, the Bajaj Dominar 400 uses a similar 373.2cc engine which produces 35 PS at 8000 RPM, with an expected top speed of 160 km/hr. The highest displacement Bajaj motorcycle will be priced at around Rs. 1.85 lakhs (on-road), ABS will be offered as optional.
