Bajaj and Triumph have officially commenced their non-equity partnership today. The companies have also announced their plans for future products. As part of the partnership, Triumph will engineer new products while Bajaj Auto will manufacture them.

The companies are working on new mid-segment motorcycles across varied segments right from 200cc to 750cc along with a new platform. This range of motorcycles will have a starting price of under Rs. 2 lakhs and the first motorcycle will be launched in 2022. All the motorcycles coming out of this partnership will wear the Triumph badge.

Bajaj Auto will also take over Triumph’s distribution in India in the near future. In overseas markets where Triumph isn’t present, Bajaj will launch these bikes under the Triumph brand name while in markets where Triumph is already present, the new motorcycles will be added to the line-up and will be distributed by the Triumph-led network.

With the new motorcycles, Triumph will have a new entry point in several high volume markets across the globe. It has still not been revealed as to what kind of motorcycles will be launched but expect the companies to launch different types of products ranging from nakeds to cruisers and even a fully-faired bike.
