Benelli BJ300GS Launched In China
Benelli BJ300GS is an effortless tourer even in stock form

Unveiled in December 2017, Benelli BJ300GS has been launched for the Chinese audience. With availability slated to start from 7th March, the adventure-tourer carries a price tag of around Rs. 3.67 lakhs. The Italian automaker already has the 302R based on the TNT 300 street-fighter in its portfolio which is good enough for mild touring because of its faired design and sorted ergonomics. However, this one promises to be tailor-made for adventure touring and gets the essential changes as well.

Up front, the Benelli BJ300GS gets an aerodynamic fairing with a tall visor and projector headlamp unit which looks quite similar to the one once seen on the Hero Karizma ZMR. The motorcycle also gets forward-set footpegs and a wide handlebar to offer a more relaxed seating position crucial for comfortable touring. Apart from that, loop-type crash guard, side panniers and top box are offered as standard. The instrument cluster is a part-digital unit shared with the 302R.

Sitting taut on its trellis frame, the Benelli BJ300GS draws power from a 300cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that also powers the fully-faired 302R. To suit the touring intentions of this bike, Benelli has re-tuned the motor to produce more torque at lower RPMs. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine develops 35.3 PS of power and 27 Nm of peak torque. However, the motorcycle is on the heavier side at 216 kgs (kerb weight) and comes with a top speed of 140 km/hr.

Suspension setup comprises of USD forks at the front and off-set monoshock at the rear. Coupled with dual-channel ABS, twin disc brakes at the front and single disc at the rear handle the braking department. Sadly, there is no certainty of an India launch at the moment.
