Best Selling 2-Wheelers Of August 2025, Hero MotoCorp Leads The Domestic Market

Six major manufacturers in India’s two-wheeler industry reached 21.49 lakh units in sales in August 2025. Domestic sales reached 17.47 lakh units, with exports contributing over four lakh units. The market experienced a year-on-year growth of 10.57% and a month-on-month growth of 13% overall.

Hero MotoCorp

Hero MotoCorp led the domestic market by selling 5.19 lakh units, showing a growth of 5.46% compared to August 2024. Its month-on-month sales increased sharply by 25.88%, showcasing robust festive season demand. Hero’s export performance also impressed with 72.11% year-on-year growth, though a 7.41% monthly decline was noted.

Honda

Honda followed with 4.81 lakh domestic units, showing a slight 2.17% decline compared to last year. However, its exports surged 14.13% year-on-year and nearly 10% month-on-month. The brand’s total sales reached 5.34 lakh units, indicating resilience despite domestic challenges.

TVS

TVS Motors achieved strong growth by selling 3.68 lakh units domestically, marking a 27.6% year-on-year jump. Its exports added 1.21 lakh units, with 35.82% annual growth. Total sales crossed 4.90 lakh units, reflecting consistent demand across both domestic and international markets.

Bajaj

Bajaj sold 3.41 lakh units, with strong export volumes of 1.57 lakh units providing significant support. Domestic sales dipped 11.75% year-on-year, but surged 32.19% month-on-month. Bajaj’s strategy of export-led growth helped it maintain competitive positioning globally.

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield showcased the strongest domestic momentum by selling 1.02 lakh units, achieving 56.77% year-on-year growth. Exports reached 11,126 units, growing 38.97% compared to August 2024. Its premium positioning continues to drive aspirational demand both in India and overseas.

Suzuki

Suzuki achieved mixed results, selling 91,629 domestic units, with a modest 4.74% year-on-year rise. However, domestic sales fell 4.58% month-on-month, indicating short-term weakness. Strong export growth of 28.79% helped Suzuki reach 1.13 lakh total units.

Outlook

In August 2025, the overall two-wheeler market reflected strong festive sentiment and rising global demand. Royal Enfield and TVS stood out with impressive growth, while Honda faced domestic headwinds. Hero maintained leadership, while Bajaj leveraged exports and Suzuki balanced challenges with overseas strength.
