The BMW G310R gets an all-digital instrument cluster, returns around 36.05 km/l and has a sporty sounding exhaust note, keeping up with the competition.

BMW G310R Specifications
The G310R will make its public debut at EICMA in some hours

BMW’s big ticket to the mass market space, the G310R has been a highly awaited offering developed in collaboration with TVS that will be making its way into several developed and emerging markets globally. What is interesting is that the G310R has been completely developed by the German automaker while the manufacturing responsibilities are being carried by TVS at its Indian facility. While we have already witnessed the G310R in pictures, BMW has also released a new set of videos showing the bike in action.

The BMW G310R will be competing against a host of offerings in the segment including the KTM Duke 390, Mahindra Mojo 300, Yamaha MT-03, Kawasaki Z250/300 and Benelli TNT 300 in global markets. The German automaker has incorporated small but several technologies from bigger Motorrad models on to the G310R and is sure to make that clear when the bike goes on sale globally. Considering BMWs superior engineering prowess, it will be interesting to see what the engine has to offer in terms of ride-ability.

Speaking of which, power on the BMW G310R comes from a 313cc, single-cylinder DOHC engine with fuel injection tuned for 34 BHP at 9500 RPM and 28 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. A kerb weight close to 180 kgs is expected on the bike, which won’t make it as aggressive to ride as the KTM Duke 390 but will offer a decent power-to-weight ratio. BMW has already revealed that the street-fighter gets inverted front forks, monoshock rear suspension, 300 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes and ABS offered as standard while the fuel efficiency is said to be around 36.05 km/l.

The new images also reveal the all-digital instrument cluster on the BMW G310R including engine speed, road speed, gear, odometer, engine temperature, fuel tank level, remaining range, average fuel consumption, average speed and time. The alloy wheels come wrapped in Michelin rubber (could differ depending on the market). The 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show is all set to commence and this German street-fighter is certain to grab a lot of attention at the BMW pavilion. More details are expected to be revealed at the show while pricing is expected to be around Rs. 2 lakhs (ex-showroom), given the ‘India made’ tag.
