BYD Seal

BYD Seal will be their third product in the Indian market after E6 and Atto 3

BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has recently announced the commencement of bookings for its latest offering, the BYD Seal EV. The electric sedan is scheduled for an official unveiling on 5th March, 2024.

Boasting a coupe-like silhouette, the BYD Seal showcases a modern aesthetic with notable features such as an all-glass roof, seamlessly integrated door handles and distinctive split LED headlights featuring boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The rear of the vehicle gets a full-width LED light bar, making it look futuristic.

The centrepiece of the interior is a sizeable 15.6-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.

The BYD Seal will be equipped with an 82.5 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 570 km on the WLTP cycle. This variant, featuring a single motor, generates 227 HP and 360 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.9 seconds.

It can be charged with a 150kW charger from 10 to 80 percent in 37 minutes. However, a standard 11kW charger will take 8.6 hours to charge the battery to full.

In a bid to entice potential buyers, BYD has announced a promotion. Customers who make BYD Seal bookings before 30th April, 2024, will stand a chance to win a UEFA match ticket along with a round-trip flight ticket from India to the match venue. Winners of this promotion will be announced via BYD’s official social media channels and website in May 2024.

The BYD Seal will compete with the likes of Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in the Indian market. It is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs. 50 lakhs. What are your thoughts on the upcoming EV by BYD? Let us know in the comments section.
