Citroen C3 Now Available With Retrofit CNG Kit At Dealership Level
Citroen has launched the CNG kits for the C3. The C3 will be available in the dealerships across the country with a certified CNG Kit retrofitment program. This is a kit that is available at the dealership level as opposed to a proper variant.
Price
The Citroen C3 CNG is priced from Rs. 7.16 Lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs. 9.24 Lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG Kit costs Rs. 93,000 with a 3-year/100,000 Km warranty. Lovato and Citroen have teamed up for the CNG kit’s supply and installation.
Availability
The kit is available across all the variants, i.e. Live, Feel, Feel (O) and Shine. The CNG kit fits perfectly into the boot without compromising the space, adding to its practicality. The design integrates the CNG nozzle into the petrol filler port, making the refuelling procedure convenient.
Changes
Suspension adjustments were made to preserve the hatchback’s “flying carpet ride”. Citroen retuned the rear shock absorbers, reinforced the suspension springs, and added an anti-roll bar. These changes should provide a stable and comfortable ride with the added weight of the kit.
Range & Efficiency
The single-cylinder CNG kit has a water-equivalent capacity of 55 litres and claims a range of 170 Km to 200 Km on a full tank. The kit has an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 28.1 Km/Kg. This reduces the running cost to as low as Rs. 2.66 per Km.
Citroen pairs the CNG kit with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It pairs with a 5-speed manual transmission. In petrol mode, it produces 81 HP and 115 Nm of torque. In terms of power and torque figures in CNG mode, Citroen has not revealed details regarding the same.
