Classic Legends Working On 4 Motorcycles Launching In FY26 & Expanding Dealer Network
Classic Legends, the parent company of Jawa, Yezdi and BSA motorcycles, is planning to launch 4 motorcycles in FY26. The company intends to double its sales and enter 7 new export markets. This was conveyed by Anupam Thareja, the brand’s Co-Founder, at a recent media roundtable.
450cc Engine Platform
The brand is currently working on a platform with a 450cc engine. However, it will not launch before 2026. It is important to note that the brand is also working on improving its current platform.
It is also important to note that the brand is focusing on improving the rider experience and comfort rather than increasing the CC. They plan to experiment with sprockets, gear ratios, handling and suspension. The brand understands that the current models require refinement and sharpening to compete against stiff competition.
Classic Legends offers three models under the Yezdi brand, i.e. Roadster, Scrambler and Adventure. Additionally, there are 5 models under Jawa and 1 under the BSA brand. It is important to note that BSA is working on a scrambler with the 650cc engine used on the Goldstar.
The brand is trying to expand the dealer network from 350 to 500 dealers.
Outlook
The brand has a strong legacy but struggles with product quality concerns, after-sales service issues, and disruptions due to the global pandemic. It remains to be seen whether the brand will be able to address the issues and create a stronger foothold on the Indian motorcycle market.
