Hero XPulse 160 Spotted Testing, Shares Design Cues With The XPulse 210

Hero has been spotted testing the XPulse 160. Observers suggest it may succeed the Impulse 150 ADV. The camouflaged bike, sharing design cues with the bigger XPulse 210, appears to carry a smaller engine.

The Impulse was the first bike to come from Hero and Honda’s joint venture. However, the brands did not achieve the success they craved with the bike. The learnings from the XPulse 210 may potentially translate into an ADV with a smaller engine.

Styling

The test mule shares plenty of design cues with the XPulse 210. The tail light design is similar to the XPulse 210. The small rack is replaced with a functional rack, resembling the larger XPulse.

Extended shrouds on the fuel tank also revise it to mirror the styling of the brand’s ADV offering. It is important to note that the engine guard is similar to the 200 4V. The engine’s similarity to the Xtreme 160R suggests it is a smaller XPulse.

In terms of the engine, Hero’s 163cc engine produces 16.9 HP and 14.6 NM of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Expected Price

Heavy camouflage on the front of the ADV bike made it difficult to see if there were any revisions. Observers expect the concerned bike to target a segment below Rs. 1.5 Lakh. However, the design cues also slightly suggest that the bike is a refreshed version of the XPulse 200 4V.
