Honda’s 4-wheeler division registered its highest ever monthly domestic sales of 22,696 units in March 2015 and displayed a growth of over 23% as compared to 18,426 units in the same month last year. The company has achieved its place in the top three car manufacturers (beating Mahindra) thanks to good sales of the Amaze and the City sedans. As a result of huge sales throughout the financial year 2014-2015, Honda has marked a remarkable growth of 41% over the 2013-14 financial year in terms of sales. The City maker managed to touch a total sales of 1,89,062 units as compared to 1,34,339 units in FY 2013-2014.

However local sales is not the only sector that expanded, Honda’s annual export volume also grew by 45% during the latest financial year, although it is still very meagre. The company’s total export sales increased by 2605 units as compared to the previous year. Honda India exported a total volume of 691 units in the month of March 2015 which is peanuts. The Honda City sedan crossed the milestone of fastest 1-lakh cumulative sales in just 15 months and registered 101,299 unit sales since its launch in January 2014.

Honda thanks loyalists on the company’s sales performance and is looking forward to the upcoming launch of the Jazz. Except for the next generation Jazz, Honda is expecting to launch two other cars in the FY 2015-2016 (Accord and Accord Hybrid). Honda’s highly popular D-segment sedan, the Civic, that was discontinued last year, might make its come back next year with an all new design and a diesel engine. The Honda Brio based compact SUV which will be priced between Rs. 6.5 lakhs – 10 lakhs and will be seen on roads by mid-2016. The Amaze facelift is also scheduled to launch later this year.
